My WOW Chipboard Post, Little Lady Layout & The New AltaMATZ Video

Hi, It's Gilly here, I had a play with the new My Mind's Eye papers last week, I love the Shabby Vintage Distressed look in this paper range, I was thinking about putting a bird cage on this layout until I found this cute RWL9174 Little Lady Title .

I covered the words in a coat of Liquid Pearls, then put a little bit of the liquid pearls into a bowl and added a small amount of water, which turned into a glaze, I then gave the lady silhouette 3 coats of the glaze and added a piece of feather trim as I skirt.

I also used the glaze on the paper doily to add a bit of colour.

This tag is on the top left hand side of the layout, I just wanted to add some journaling.

I have also had a play with the NEW AltaMATZ and made a video using them with a little tip to help with misting, Hope you enjoy the video.

Hi, Here is the sketch from the 1st of march, all you have to do is create a layout using the Inspirational Sketch, take photo and up load it onto the Stuck Sketches Site and you too could win a great prize and have fun creating a piece of history at the same time.

WOW Blog Post & Faux Metal Distressing Video.

Hi, On the school holidays Milly had a friend over to stay and I thought "Photo Shoot" as they scrapper does. So the girls got changed into matching coloured dresses, I got my camera ready, and off we went into the garden.

I took quite a few so you will be seeing more, it was really nice to take photos of a little blond haired girl, letting me use more yellow than normal.

I wanted to use something playful on this layout and the C768 Pennyfarthing Bike was perfect, playful and old fashion.

I created the bike using what I like to call 'Faux Metal Distressing' to create this look you need:

Embossing Powder,

Embossing Ink Pad.

Distressing Tool,

Heat Gun,
And A Paint Dabber Or Paint and A Brush.

Hi, I have some great news to share with you this morning..........................
INTRODUCING ..... WOW'S NEW DESIGN AND INSPIRATION TEAMS FOR 2012!!!

Design and Inspiration Teams for 2012!!

Some of these lovely ladies I have worked with before, and some have become good friends.

This year's teams are smaller but we are going to be filling the Internet and magazines with lots of Wow chippies, it's going to be a Big Wow year.

This is my Me layout for the Wow blog post, which is a funny story as it was 3.45pm and I got a text message from Suzanne saying "Have you emailed me through your Me layout"? which I then rang Suzanne saying "No I thought it was only the new girls".

So at 4.45pm I sat down and came up with this layout, which by the time I found the papers took me an hour to complete, Anyone who has scrapped with me, knows I'm a slow scrapper, 2 to 3 hours is the norm with lots of talking in between and sometimes wine or watching Buffy again.

So to do a layout in 1 hour is very rare for me.

I used: 12x12 Circle Frames c828.

And a Square Swirl Frame c?

I inked the Circle Frame first then wrapped with ripped strips of vintage lace.

The yummy vintage glitter glass, was still wet when I took the photo.

Wow Blog Post, Santa's List.....

Hi, This is my last Wow Chipboard blog post for this term.
I started scrapping my Christmas photos this week, I wonder how many more years my daughter is going to sit on Santa's lap for, now she is a real pro. The photographer took 3 photos, which she was smiling in all of them and Santa only this one. When the photographer said "that was easy" I followed by saying "She's scrap abused" lol!
I don't know if he knew what I meant but he did laugh, he properly thought what a weirdo!

Over the Christmas break I was given a box full of goodies to play with and one of the items that I fell in LOVE with is the 12x12 Circle Set Frame C828 you can do whatever you like with these, cover, paint, stain, glitter, emboss, you name it.
I have put step by step instructions on the Wow Blog.

Love this October Afternoon Holiday Style.

Bo Bunny Sketch, The Christmas Dress.

Hi, My first Layout for this year. I'm using the new Bo Bunny Snowfall range and some Wow Chipboard.
Every year I buy Milly one special dress to wear on Christmas day and for the Santa photo, and when we went to Trade Secret in early Dec Milly found this dress and we just fell in love with it.

When we received the Bo Bunny Snowfall in Fred, I just knew I had to use it, It's so beautiful, I'll have to buy some more for Winter in June.
I found on the Bo Bunny Blog they had a great sketch to use for a comp, which finishes on the 5th of Jan so you still have a little time, the sketch is below.

I love these Circles Sets, with this one I:
1. Inked it in light blue first,
2. Then using a sewing machine I sewn the lace around the circle,
3. Then inked the inside of the circle in dark brown,
4. To finish I added a string of blue pearls.

With the Flourish I:
1. Inked with light grey,
2. Applied Liquid pearls,
Note: Tap the flourish from behind on a desk to make sure there isn't any peeks from the liquid pearls.

I used Wow Chipboard: 12 x12 Circle Set C828 ,
June Flourish C1193,

Here is the sketch, which I turned on the side.

My 10 Favourite for 2011

Happy New Year!
Well what a year it's been for me,
We sold our house which took alot longer then we thought,
We brought a new house which is an old house about 1920's and we are slowly doing it up, which is taking up alot of my time.
I started at the gym in late March and have lost over 16 kgs and now fit into some size 12 clothes from about a size 18, But I've just put on 2 kgs over Christmas. EVIL!
Milly and I joined Girl Guides and I became a leader.
I did a First Aid Course.
Went on my first real Scrap Camp with Scrapbook Savvy.
I went up to Queensland to see Renee 4 times.
Had a great night out, dinner and dancing with Leanne, Tracey, Lisa, Renee, Belinda and Geli. Which we will talk about for years to come.

Anyhoo as Leanne would say here are my favourite 10 items for 2011.

My Recipe Book, from Wow Chipboard, which I just LOVE, it's got my favorite recipes in there, which alot have been given to me from family and friends.

This one was early in the year, when I started making my own pizza bases with Milly

Retro Kaiser.

Just LOVE this hand mirror mini album from Wow Chipboard.

Just got to love prima.

Another one from early in the year, I just LOVE Webster's pages, lots of Wow Chippies on there too.

Pink Paislee and those buntings we all like.

LOVE the Happy Birthday Bunting and also started using rosettes with my Martha Stewart Score Board.

Retro style Cosmo Cricket.

Webster's Pages so bright and pretty.

Crate Paper Farm House, love this vintage table cloth. The photo was taken in the new back yard.

I haven't really scrapped much this year, I've been so busy with everything going on but this year I'm going to put time a side for lots of scrapping.

Merry Christmas!

Hi, It's Christmas Time, hope you all had a great Christmas!
It feels like it was only August for me, when we moved into our new house, which we had our fist Christmas party at on Boxing Day, we had 25 people over for a sit down lunch, thanks to me borrowing the tables and chairs from the Girl Guide hall.

This week I created a Christmas Bunting from Wow Chipboard to hang on our fire place.

I filmed a step by step on how to create this bunting, but I doesn't want to work on you tube, so next week I'll re film it and then post it or repair it someone is going to have a look for me, but I had a wait until he wasn't busy.

For these Cute Christmas Stocking Bunting,

I used: 3 pieces of papers to cover,

2 pieces to create the rosettes,

3 metres of lace,

Micro Beads,

Kindy Glitz,

Border Punch,

File Set,

Hot Glue Gun

& Score Board.

I was thinking about adding some hat pins as well.

I'll keep working on the video so please keep your eyes out for it.

Merry Christmas :)

Only 2 more sleeps and then wham we will woken up super early in a flurry of wrapping paper, squeals of excitement and chocolate! (well that's what happens at my house, at least until the kidlets wake up!! LOL!!).
Even though my poor neglected blog doesn't look like it I HAVE been scrapping up a storm, but it has mainly been for the mags and secret squirrel! But I can show you this Christmas layout that I have done using some of the super versatile Scapmatts chippies:

This is a pic of my son Walter taken by a awesome girl (aka Tammy Carrol :) at family day care Christmas time last year.

Here's a closie of the gorgeous little Santa and reindeer (CB1105) chippies (oh so lovely in RED!!) that I have simply dabbed with with gold paint :)
And the Christmas ornament (CB1059) which I covered with some Tim Holtz distress ink and then applied the paint on top.

And here's the Holly (CB1104) which I have given the Tim Holtz ink and paint treatment and hot glue gunned onto the bottle cap.

Ok Here is a sneak of some thing a little bit exciting I have coming up!!

Hi, This is a LO I did when I was up at Renee's last week, I used the Prima Pixie Glen range of papers and added some yummy Prima birds and bling which I brought from Fred.

I even added a piece of Wow Chipboard.

Close up of the Wow Fancy Round Frame C1235, which I painted in white Gesso, then covered with Tim Holtz White puff Embossing powder, heat set then I inked with pink ink (old rose) around the edges.

Sleigh Bells ring Are You Listening?

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
On the layout, glitter glass is glistening

We're scrapping tonight,
With all Christmas Chipboard in Wowland .

Yes it's that time of year where we are all very busy making Christmas Cards and handmade Christmas Gifts.
I usually wait until Dec to start using Christmas papers but this year I thought I would do some layouts coming up to Christmas, as sometimes you just run out of time in Dec.
In this layout I used: New Christmas Flourish.
which I displayed on: 12x12 Page Display Stand M183

This is part off the

Christmas Tree M189

I did for this months Scrapbook Creations, so make sure you grab a copy to see the Christmas Tree which would make a great Christmas centre piece for years to come.

Also in Scrapbook Creations this month I created a Christmas mini album using:

Hot Air Balloon Mini Album M126,

which makes a great coffee table book for your guest to look at this Christmas time or you could open up and use as a banner.

I will be playing with some more Christmas pieces every soon as Christmas is my favourite time of the year.

An Owly Wrapped In An Doily?????

Hi, I just LOVE Owls so when I saw this new design from Wow Chipboard's I knew I had to have one, a lot of my Owls I have are male so I thought I would create a girly girly Owl, which I've been told is now for Milly's bedroom door.

I used: Owly LB044

1. Use pattern paper to cover the back of the Owl,

2. Paint the front Owl and eyes with a white pearl paint.

3. Glue the 2 parts together,

4. Add the eyes, I put some circle pieces of paper under the eyes first,

5. Put dimensional magic into the parts you want to cover with glitter, then sprinkle glitter,

6. Spray an old doily with Glimmer mist, dry, then cut in half and glue to the sides of the owl, (as photo)

7. Add some Kindy Glitz to the wings of the owl.

8. Find a place to put Owly on show.

Note: if you fold the doilies at the back of the Owl they sit up a little, also drying the Glimmer Mists with a heat gun makes the doily harden a little.

Next I have a layout Milly in the garden being cute, see knows how to use the camera lol!

I wanted to create a rusty look with the chipboard word and colour the branch.

I used: Flower Branch C195

Adore C1068

1. Spray chipboard word and branch with Glimmer mist,

2. Put both of them through the Cuttlebug machine, I used script embossing folder,

3. Cover chipboard with embossing clear ink pad, then sprinkle puff embossing powder over the top,

4. Use a paint brush and brush off parts of the embossing powder,

5. Then use a heat gun to set the embossing powder,

6. Use a paint brush and dip it in an open bottle of Glimmer mists, then paint it onto the top of the puff embossing powder, I used pink for the flowers and green for the leaves and a little bit of all the colours on parts of the word.

7. When dry use an file on the raised parts of the word, for a distressed look.

8. Cover the word, the flowers and leaves of the branch in Dimensional magic, leave to dry.

9. When dry add bits of kindy Glitz to the flowers on the branch.

Also just wanted to share the Happy Birthday Bunting which was in
Scrapbook Creations last month.

I have used a rubber thing that I brought from reverse garbage for 10cents as a mask and misted till my heart was content to get my dotty spots!

New Camera and House Photos!

HI, I got a new camera today yay! I was borrowing dad's camera and when we were in Big W today they had the same camera as I had before but the new style for only $198.00, so my DH Ben brought it for me as he knows how much I miss the old one.
So I took some photos of the new house in panorama photos.

Hi, Had a busy week which ended up in bed with a migraine, anyway here are some of the photos I've received so far, below is my DH Ben dressed up as Scooby Doo.

Some of the decorations, the whole house was dressed up.

Some yummy cakes Susan made for Milly, check out the cake toppers.

Me dressed up as Velma and wrapping Kevin up like a mummy.

Milly who was dressed up as Daphne, but this was about 1 hour into the party, hair falling out.

Happy 7th Birthday Milly Moo!

HI, I know your thinking what 2 posts in 2 days from me, lol!

Well today I had the day off work so I could spend the day with Miss Milly Moo on her 7th birthday, we had the party on the weekend, which was a Scooby Doo theme, so I dressed the whole house up like a spooky haunted house, friends took photos because my camera got stolen from work 2 weeks ago and I feel lost without in I used it nearly everyday, anyway when I get some photos I'll post them.

This is the card I made Milly at the scrap camp I went to 10 days ago, Scrapbook Savvy, I won the card comp with Milly's birthday card and received a great Sassafras Lass Stamp Set, thanks to Sandra at Scrapbook Delights.

Wow Chipboard Post & More Dress Forms!

Hi, I just LOVE using Dress Forms so when I received this new dress form design from Wow Chipboard, I just fell in love with it! They are one of my favourite chippies as you can add lots of fabric and texture to a page or card, and this new one is alittle different as it also has some beautiful flourishes attached to the back of the dress form, which really set of a corner.

I used: RWL100063 Dress Corner

I covered the dress form first with pattern paper, then cut around the edges, sanded, then added round piece of fabric which was cut in half, glimmer misted and folded, then tied it in at the waist. To make the top of the dress I folded the fabric over and glued down, creating the top of the dress.

I coloured in the flourish behind with a marker, then added Dimensional Magic to finished it off.

Adding layers by fussy cutting and mounting with foam tape.

I also created this layout using the new borders, ( to new for a code)

I covered the scalloped border with pattern paper, then sanded with a file set around the edges, I really love the affect of using chipboard like this because it gives the piece a more distressed layered look, compared to the sticker border which is underneath.

Adding more layering chunkness!

Savvy cyber crop is on THIS WEEKEND!! woot woo! The girls have put their challenges up in the forum and it looks awesome!

Here is my challenge: Distressing!
Create a project with at least one form of distressing on it!

Wow Blog Post And I have the Net back!

Hi, I've had a busy couple of weeks,with moving house and I still have lots of boxes to unpack, but getting there, we had alot of trouble with getting the Internet on with Telstra, so after the 9th working day and still no Internet and a really bad phone line we cancelled the account and when with Optus wireless, which is a little bit slower but it's working.

Anyway my scrap room in the new house is set up now, so this is my first layout in my new house and I wanted it to be something which I love creating and that's the dress form, they are one of my greatest loves in life lol!

I used the Webster's Pages Let's Celebrate range, which I also covered the Wow Dress form in.

This photo was taken by Corinne Dany of Milly when she was 4, it's hard to think she will be turning 7 next month.

Also Milly and I joined Girl Guides 3 weeks ago and I'm going to be a leader, I used to do guides about 20 years ago, so I'm really looking forward doing my training.

I've lost now all up 12.7 kgs and my size 14 clothes are starting to get to big, I haven't been going to the gym that much because of moving but I think I get a bigger work out here. I will take some photos soon of the new house and what we have done so far.

Oh Happy Days!!

Hello Bloggy readers!
And here I was thinking that today was going to be a "non-event" day!
I was woken up by 3 excited kidlets and one sleepy eyed husband at 6:30am armed with a bag full of pressie just for me!!
Then just after 7am my mum and dad turn up at the door with even more pressies!
and the they take my eldest DD Viola to school so I can stay in my jammies all day!!
I then checked out the scrap blogs, FB and my emails where I received yet another pressie from all my scrappy peeps - a voucher at Savvy!! (thanx so very much peepers!!) so off to the making room I go and this layout is the results of uninterrupted (we love you Rory the race car DVD!!) scrapping this morning!

Missy, Wow Blog Post!

Hi, First yes I am alive but I've been really busy, I have been scrapping but I can't show anything as it's all been for magazines.

I've been going to the gym alot and I've lost about 12 kgs and gone from a size 18 to a small size 14, I feel fitter and alot better about my body now.

We haven't sold the house and we move into the new house on the 28th of this month, so if it hasn't sold by then we are going to rent it out, which means that my dream plans for the new house will have to wait.

Anyway back to my Wow blog post lol!

I would like to welcome to new DT member's ( updated list on side bar) and I'm very happy to be doing my 2nd term and as my 1st blog post I created a layout using a beautiful photo which my friend Corinne Dany took of Milly Moo about 2 weekends ago, Milly looks so grown up in this photo.

I also used the new tea pot set and rose, which will be available in Aug.

Also this LO is going to be a Fred Kit.

Hi, This is one of my LO's I did at Renee's house, it's for the challenge which Renee is Hosting on Savvy this month, which is to use the song Just the way you are by Bruno Mars,
I know it's a bit late but you still have until the end of the month to get your LO's in.

The photo of Milly was taken this month in the back garden, looking very sweet lol!

And yes I just love my Sew Easy Tool, this one is the smocking one.

This next one I did for work, I've been putting together some kits which have step by step instructions and photos on a blog, this one will be available next month, so check out the other kits I've created for

Show Us Your Stuff June Challenge!

Hi, I'm back from our visit to Renee's house in Brissy, It took us 15 hours to get home because the roads where blocked due to flooding so we had to go the back way on the New England Hwy.
We had a great time Ben, Milly and I went to Movie World and Sea World where Milly went into the water with a dolphin, which she paid for herself with her saved up pocket money.
On the Friday night Renee and I met up with Geli, Lisa, Danielle, Sara, Anne and the lovely girls from Fancy That and had a crop at the store.
On the Saturday we went to the Paper Craft Expo in Brissy and met up with our scrapping peeps, Leanne, Belinda, Kim, Geli and Lisa as well as catching up with lots of lovely ladies and Andrew as well as meeting new friends too.
We finished the Monday night with a scrap night at Renee's where Geli, Renee and myself, played on the computer with Picnic adding some touches to a photo of Leanne, it was soooooo funny, my face was sore the next day from laughing, and writing this I'm still laughing.

Anyway this is what this post is about my challenge LO on Show Us Your Stuff, which is use the colours Teal and Cream to create a LO, but I couldn't help myself and I had to add highlights of pink and yellow.
I also used from: Clouds And More Banneriffic Sweetest, Resin Flowers and Sweet Delight Flowers.
Lil Red Rocket: Vintage Girl Button .
And yes I now am in love with my Sew Easy Tool, we received all the heads at Fred, the one I used on this LO is Loop De Loop.

You have until the end of the month to enter the SUYS challenge, where you could win prizes.

Wow Blog Post!

Hi, I was really lucky to receive one of the NEW Page Display Stands which come in 3 sizes 6x6, 8x8 and 12x12, I just really love these stands as sometimes the layout gets beyond the 12x12 size as in the case of my layout below or sometimes it's nice to put your current layout on display in your home.

What I also love about these stands is they have two sides to them, for the first side I used a white wash look and added abit of bling using vintage glitter glass on some parts of the stand and the other side I inked in dark brown then added some crackle paint and to finish it off I painted some Glimmer Glaze on to the parts I wanted to highlight.

Both sides of the stand suit the layout of Milly which this photo was taken when she was about 4, by a photographer friend Corrine Dany,

I also used the Flourish D which I cut in half and painted in brown glimmer glaze then I coated with clear rock candy crackle paint and the NEW Peacock, which was just asking to be blinged up with
vintage glitter glass.

I just love the look of Vintage Glitter Glass, but in this case It was abit too bright for the peacock so I toned it down with the brown Glimmer Glaze.

Giddy Up Words Or Whatever LO!

Hi, Yes I have created a LO!

I 've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to do some scrapping, I've been going to the gym about 3 to 5 days a week, and have lost over 8.5kgs yay!

Also trying to keep my house "show house clean" as it is still for sale, which is creating more problems and stress, we move into our new house on the 25th of July and if our old house hasn't sold by then we'll have to rent it out and I don't really want to do that.

Anyway here is my LO I created last night for Words Or Whatever (WOW) I used the new carousel horse which I just love and I also used my Sew Easy Tool which I can see why Nay is in love with hers lol!

I also used sketch #74 on Inspired Blueprints.

I have another LO to show tomorrow yes I did 2 LO's last week yay!

Scrap the girls entry!!

this is my very first time entering the Scrap the girls monthly challenge :)
This month the challenge was as follows:

Scrap a layout based on an important female in your life. Extra criteria: more than 20 words of handwritten journalling

So I have chosen to do a LO of some one you all will know: Gilly!! This is a pic of Gill on her wedding day in 2004, holding Viola! She looks so very beautiful and I just wanted to capture that vintagy diva feel she had going on!

I have included the following handwritten journalling:

"We first met in 1998 when I was 17 and you were 22, We hit it off stright away and became friends for life. We have been there for each other through thick and thin and always will be!"

She's Savvy MAY kits layouts

hello!!
Here are my first 2 LO's for the Scrapbook Savvy DT :)
I was super excited to receive the awesome She's Savvy Kit for May last night and got straight to work on some creating!! Which was so easy I had enough time to do not one but 2 LO's :)) Which is a record for me!! LOL!
This first LO is of my daughter Charlotte aka Charlie. The pics are from a visit to GOMA last month.

I am so very addicted to my "sew easy" tool!! I think I have used it on nearly every LO I have done since I brought it!! And here I was dubious that I would use it!! hahaha! Highly reccommend them for that awesome hand stitched look.

This next LO is of my darling Viola, some pics I took in March and turned into a collage.

And here is the kit!! Unfortunately Savvy have sold out of the She's Savvy kits but there is 3 of the others left! This kit is awesome!! I am seriously going to get at least 5 LO's out of it and still have goods left over!! Definitely email Sar to organize your subscription for the next couple of months coz they will definitely keep selling out!!

My House Is For Sale!

Hi, So this is what has been taking up all my time, our house is on the market and for sale, we got what we had planned for the next 12 months done in about 2 weeks.

The plants look abit sad but they do look better now and no I didn't run them over lol!

Also can you tell we love blue and owls!

Back deck area, and no the dog doesn't come with the house lol!

Ben and I have been working hard to get the house for sale and we have already found our new home, so we really need to sale it in the next 4 weeks, so far so good 2 lots of people love the house, so hopefully we will have some good news this week.

SM Express yourself Competition!

Well I was so very excited to open my email the other day to find that my LO had been chosen in the 20 finalist for the SM express yourself comp!!
The pics I have used are the very first I took when I downloaded the hipstamatic app on my iphone!
So love to take"selfies" but not many actually make it onto the scrap page.

All 20 of the finalists will be on display at the June Scrapbooking expo here in Brisbane and the winner will be chosen by public vote!! So I suppose that I have a 1 in 20 chance!! All the chippies are from Scrapware including the absolutely gorgeous flourish!

Some of my bestie scrapper also are finalists too! Including Gilly!! (But when I saw her Lo I knew that she would be!! I mean it is simply gorgeous!) Check out the FB group to see the other finalists!

My Wow Chipboard Post And Video.

Hi, For this Wow Chipboard post I wanted to do create a layout about myself and I love the song Landslide by by Dixie Chicks and I always sing it in the car and shower lol!

This part of the song is talking about how we are all children at heart, even though we sometimes forget about the simple things and fun things in life because we get so bogged down, that our child in our heart needs to rise above and enjoy life or the moment for what it is.

I used: Flourish Curly C478

To create the layered look, I starting with spraying the flourish with Glimmer Mist then wrapping muslin in strips around the flourish, I then added some butterflies, flowers by Leanne Jago and bling.

My first LO published in SM

Well here it is scrappy friends - My 1st ever LO published in Scrapbooking Memories (Last months issue)
I actually scraped this LO at Miss Leanne J's house last October and was quite shocked that I finally got one accepted!

Pic is of Tim and I at the Springfield version of the ekka, last August.

Some Scrapware goodies grunged up and dimensional magiced :)

I love, love, LOVE the new Scrapware fences, gates and light posts, so very grungable and perfect for my vintage chic vs grungey LO.

A bit of Christmas cheer in April!!

I am on a scrapping high at the moment and so here is another LO while I am at it!!
This one is for the Boxx fortnightly challenge set by the incredibly talented Julie Winks (so love her scrapping!!) - complete a LO that showcases 2 of your favourite techniques!
So I thought "what fun!!" and was digging through my ever shrinking stash, only to find an unopened Studio Calio kit :O
Yep, that's how massive my stash is, I had brought a kit and it got "lost" in the stash!! So I opened it up and found these delightful Chrissy products, and out of the shame I felt for having so much scrap good I thought I will use this kit for this challenge. And this LO is the result!!

My two "fav" techniques were: 1. sewing - I stitched using my new fav tool - my sew easy ;)
and 2. misting - of the random variety :))

Wow Chipboard Post, Shadow Boxes And Video.

Hi, I just love off the page projects and one of my favourite things is Shadow Boxes, they are just like creating a layout but only chunky, lol!

In my Shadow Box I wanted to create a musical feel and also I wanted it to look like you where looking though a window just like the bird on the side.

And also a video using Crackle Paint on your chippes.

I used: Shadow Box Large M143,

Music Note Pack: C501,

Ornamental Flourish: C891,

Dress Form Cute Pack of 2: C715.

Close up of dress form, which I embossed and adding pretty lace skirt, bow and rose to finish.

Ornamental Flourish close up, I used embossing powder and Glimmer Glaze on parts.

This is how the piano turned out in the end, Ben did a great job and I covered the seat.

Scrap Day at the Gold Coast! And Bird is the Word challege layout

Check out the talent ladies and, oh, probably just ladies!!
This pics was taken yesterday at a funtasticical scrap day down the Gold Coast!!
I got to meet the gorgeous Sara and the beautiful Crystal for the first time as they rocked up outside my place just after nine in the morning with the oh so lovely Anne in tow! (who I have had the pleasure of meeting before but never had a scrap date with!) And off we went down the Goldie to meet up with Sarah, who isn't a new friend but a beautiful old friend rediscovered!! The results a day filled with laughter, pritt and chocolate (well for me any way, everyone else was super good, so I made up for them! hahahaha!)

And you might ask, did I actually get any scrapping done????

YES!! I actually completed 2, (don't fall off your chair there but it's true!!) layouts :)
The first is this one for the Bird is the Word challenge blog!
This is the very first time I have played along and I am happy to say that I really like my results!

I have used the awesome "Emma's shoppe" which was given to me by one awesomely inspiring peep, (you know who you are and thank you for being so fantastic to me!! Mmwah!!!)
I know you might think that these pics are familiar, but I PROMISE that they are coming to an end as I have nearly exhausted my supply :)

Hi, Check out this cute Owl which was made for me by Allana at High Maintenance Hippy Etsy Shop, she also made a baby pink one for me too.

I wanted an Owl in duck egg blue to match with my newly painted bedroom, so Allana was able to knit the Owl with the 2 colours luck me and she looks so cute on my bed, as I'm still painting the bedroom I'll post photos as soon as we're done.

A new layout!

Hello bloggy readers!
Here I have for you my latest LO.
In February my peeps and I all traveled up the mountain to the lovey Leanne J's house for a bit of a relax and of course some hardcore scrapping!!
We all made up a pack of goodies to the value of $20 and then we all did a random swap. I received the goodies for this LO from the gorgeous Tracey StJohnwood, I couldn't have been happier - the pack was right up my alley and I am really happy with the results!! (plus I have goodies left over - so watch this space!)

Some C/U's: I think that these chippy letters by Scrapware are my absolutely favourite font ever!!!!

Some gorgeous Prima bling!! SO loving all the new Prima goodies ATM!

Check out this gorgeous butterfly!! It's metal and I was going to use it as a mask but it was perfect for this page!!

Wow Chipboard Technique Thursday Creating An Aged Lamp Post Video

Hi, Yes I am alive lol! I've just been very busy re decorating the house, as we are getting the house ready to sell and it had been 9 years since we painted.
Anyway this month on the Wow Blog Post I wanted to create a pretty vintage style layout and I found this photo of Milly taken by Corinne Dany, which I haven't scrapped yet, and I thought it would be perfect.

To help create this layout used:

Arched Window With A Vine C778

Garden Seat C829

Love the Garden Bench I like how in sits at the bottom off the page and Thanks to Mary for the flower.

I used crackle paint on the Arch, then added some Gesso, Distress Ink Pad, flowers and to finish it off

Kindy Glitz.

My technique this month is how to use Puff Embossing Powder, Ink Pad and Glimmer Glaze to create an aged Lamp Post, hope you enjoy the video.

I used: Triple Lamp Post C905

APRIL CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE IS TO GET INSPIRED BY AN OUTFIT THAT YOUR SON OR HUSBAND WEARS TO CREATE A LAYOUT...

** You need to use the photo of the outfit (obviously being worn by your son or hubby) inspiration could be the colours, patterns, textures etc...

I have had this PP to do this LO for, um, 18mths now (*blush*) But luckily hadn't gotten around to actually completing the LO. So obviously I choose to go with the "owl" inspiration from Walty's gorgeous little outfit that Gilly brought for him when he was first home from hospital.

Some C/U's of my owly friends on the page, and of my stitching with my new tool - Sew Easy. (so love it!!)

And how cool is this hotair balloon??? When I saw this in the talented Miss Jago's shop I knew I just had to have it!! Check out her etsy shop Clouds and More HERE!!

Weigh in Wednesday take 8 (can you really believe it??)

Yep thats right 8 weeks since I set out on the Scrapers 5kg challenge.
And I am happy to report that I am so very close to finishing this challenge its not funny. Really not funny.
I missed weighing in last week as I had a really bad week and actually gained, even though I had stuck to a really healthy food and exercise program.
So this week I weighed in at: 54.8kgs. That is a totally loss of 4.8kgs in 8 weeks.
I think that this has been a slower process but I think that having stuck to my new and healthy eating and exercise regime it is now really ingrained in me!! I feel happier and fitter and feel great about my body. If the weather was warmer I would seriously consider a bikini - I said consider LOL!!
So wish me luck as I go into week nine and finish this!!

Some really exciting news!!!!!

If you haven't already seen Inspired Blueprints has a brand new design team.
Annnnnnddddddd I was chosen to on it!!! (squeal!!!!)

Yep, thats my name right about there, between Wendy Smith and Helen Tilby!! ( I had to double take) I am so very shocked as I entered not thinking that I really had any chance. So it was a fantastic surprise to actually be asked to join :))) I feel a wee bit overwhelmed at being on a DT with so many awesome scrappers!!

I am really excited and have been scraping like mad but can't reveal anything as of yet sooooooo I have put a few sneakies on here to tide the poor blog over till reveal day :)

Weigh in Wednesday take 6!!

Hello everyone!!
Yes its been 6 weeks already since the start of the scrappers 5kg challenge.
I have been plodding along and losing the last of my excess kilos that had accumulated after having 3 gorgeous children. I have been trying really hard to shed those kgs and literally working my butt off!
This week has been no different, except that my family and I traveled back down south for a flying visit and a 80th birthday party over this last weekend. I love my family very much. But by jingies my family can cook and subsequently eat!! Knowing this and knowing that I was down to my last 800grs I seriously doubted that I would reach my goal, but also I thought that I had a good chance of crossing back into QLD slightly heavier than when I went out! LOL!!
Well I tried really hard to be good and I really was controlled but unfortunately I crossed the boarder back up north 100gr heaver. I was quite happy with that actually!! I think I got off lightly!! (lightly - get it hahaha! I so crack myself up!)
So I have exercised really hard and pushed my self harder than usual and ended up at 55.1kgs as of this morning, giving me a total weigh loss from the start of the of the challenge 4.4kgs and 600grs to go!!!!!!
So People this is the week, I AM going to do it this week! But by the way I felt really good to have all my family say how great I looked! My had work and sacrifice (food wise!!) has paid off! I know that to some of you 4.4kgs is not a great weight loss but I started off at under 60kgs so it is nearly 10% of my body weight!! I feel proud of my achievement so far!!

Here is a typical photo of my family - my grandparents, all their grandchildren and their 4 great grand children, I love this pic coz it is so very real!! hahaha!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #68, The Lovely Bear!

Hi, This is my last sketch challenge on Inspired Blueprints as a DT member, I have been on the DT team for a year now and enjoyed it very much, and Thank you IB ladies for making me feel part of the team.

I had to cut down on my scrapping DT work, as next week I'm starting at Fernwood and need much time to get fit and I can't take the time away from work or family.

Anyhoo this LO about about Milly and her Lovely Bear which she made at Ashleigh's birthday party at Build A Bear and yes that the bears name "Lovely"

I created this LO using Sassafras Lass Smitten and I also used a yummy chippy banner from Wow, which I painted in gesso to give it a shabby chic feel then I made up triangles to go in the middle of each flag of the banner, alittle bit of baker's Twine which I stole from Geli, Thanks! I don't think she will want to sit next to me again lol!

Hi, The second challenge this month on Show Us Your Stuff

This month we have a sketch challenge for you and along with this sketch you are to include a number in your title. I was sponsored this month by Purple Pumpkin which I received the Owl buttons, which as people know I LOVE Owls and I also received a handmade flower which I used on the headband for Milly.

The LO is What a hoot! and I forgot about the number in the title but as someone pointed out today at work there is 3 0's one around the beautiful barking owl and 2 in the title lol!

Weigh in Wednesday take 5

I cant believe that it comes around so very quickly again! But here it is Weigh in Wednesday!
I'm happy to report a loss this week, of 1.7kgs.
After my gain from the last weigh in, I was determined to try and make up for it this week.
This puts my current weight at 55.3kgs with a running total, over the past 5wks, of 4.2kgs!!
What is my secret weapon you might ask? Well I purchased Just dance 2, for the wii this week (on special at Big W!) and it is an awesome workout that I can do with my kids!! I don't feel like I am taking time away from my family which before was a major dampener to me actually exercising and the kids love to "play" just dance with mum!

This week we have to set ourselves mini goals, so my mini goal is to lose the last 800grs!! I believe that if I stick with it and keep exercising I can achieve this!
Thanks so much for all the encouragement and kind words, I feel fitter, healthy and look better than I have since 2001!

My Wow (WordsOr Whatever) Recipe Book Post!

Hi, We all have our favourite recipes which might have been passed down by family or my friends or in my case I find recipes on the Internet and change it to suit my family's tastle, so where do you put these recipes? Mine seem to live on bits of paper in the front of other cook books, which then fall onto the floor and seem to get lost or eaten by the dog. (I think it had cake mix on it!).

Well now you can make your own recipe book and maybe it might get passed on one day.

I used: Recipe Book Album M173

Retro Vintage Set C1072

Cooking Utensils Set

Starters Title Page: I made a title page for each selection, the pages I made out of acetate, so you can see through them.

I used the wooden Spoon on this page which I inked and went around the edges with a brown marker, then some clear crackle paint and some gesso on top.

Meals Title Page: by sewing the acetate pages it helps attach paper and embellishment.

The scales I coated with gesso first then coloured in with a blue marker, then coated it in clear crackle paint, and finished it off with some more gesso on top and some brads.

Sweets Title Page: I used the oven mitt on this page which I covered with paper, inked around the edges then added some gesso.

Cakes Title Page: On this page I used a bakers hat and tea cup, which I covered them both in paper, as above and added some Baker's Twine,

This is one of my favourite parts of this album this Baker's Hat Bookmark, which comes with a hole in the top so you can thread ribbon or like I did Baker's Twine, then just swing it into place, I was thinking about putting on it "To Make".

This is one of the recipe pages, you could use cardstock to create your book, as I used these recipe cards I had to use handwriting.

Well I hope I've inspired you to want to create your own Recipe Book with your own special style and tastes, but if you like this one I used Kaiser's Nan's Favourite.

Hehehe!! I totally forgot to blog this LO as I had been a good girl and pre-scheduled my Scrapware DT blog post, which you can see here.
This is a pic from the photo shoot we had over a year ago now, but there was so many great pics that I can still keep going!!
You may recognize my little blondie - Charlotte in this pic. And contrary to the title - "sweet child" she has been the "testing me child" ATM.

I have covered some Scrapware letters with an old childrens book, inked and crackle paint.

These roses were a must have for me! I think they are one of my fav Scrapware products!

And OMGosh, how can you go past the cuteness of this bigga button from Lil' Red Rocket???? I was hanging to use this gorge embellie!

Hi, Last month Dee's mum Joan made this beautiful scarf for Milly, So when I was up in brissy I used the photo with this months sketch from Inspired Blueprints sketch #67. so you have until the end of the month to upload your layout onto the gallery.

I turned the sketch on this side and moved the title, I used My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose and I also using some Wow Chippies, the dress form, the title Moments and the flourish swirly

I dressed the dress form uo in a pink doliy, lace and hatpin.

The flourish I painted with Tim Holtz China Blue crackle paint.

The title I covered in Tim Holtz white puff embossing powder.

Handmade by Suzanne - March sketch competition

And here is my take on the sketch, I just turned the sketch on its side.

My beautiful son and husband at the Springfield version of the "Ekka" last August. They had no idea I was taking the pics and was really happy to actually capture a true moment between them.

I just LOVE that really cool Martha Stewart punch that Michelle and Geli always use - Shells punch, but I just couldn't get it happening on my page so waste not want not, hence the punched strip flower LOL!!

not so good weigh in this time around!!

Hello everyone!!
I can't believe that it had been now over 4 WEEKS since I embarked on the 5kgs challenge!
This week hasn't been a sucess!! I didn't lose any weight, I didn't even mantain, I GAINED!!
Only 500grs, but that puts my weight back up at 57kgs even, and my total loss over the 4wks at 2.5kgs.
Not enough exercise and too much good foods!
Our challenge this week was to look at why we gained weight in the first place, well I wasn't overweight, but had been carrying my excess weight due to having kids and not enough time to look after myself properly!
I definitely over ate and justified it but not snacking.
Well this is week 5 - a new week and a new start so heres looking to loss and not gain this week!!

My Minds Eyes March Sketch - Remember Dad.

Hi, Over at the My Mind's Eye Blog they are having a sketch challenge for March, so when I received this photo from a scrappy friend for a photo swap challenge I thought I might use the sketch and I think the new My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose Hattie range really suit the photo of Noelene's Dad in his smart looking Masonic uniform, this photo was taken 3 years before he passed away.

I find it really hard doing male layout, but I think this paper really suits the photo and I hope Noelene is happy with the layout too.

I also used some yummy Wow chippies the Journal tag frame and the key.

Hi, here are the LO's and cards which where in Scrapbook Creations issue #85 jan/feb.

First up we have this beautiful bright cards by Renee, this is a great way to use up all scraps.

Love this photo of Milly taken by Corinne Dany, with this LO I wanted it to have alot of feeling to it, abit like a touchy feely LO.

I used the left overs from an quilt to make the flower.

LOve this October Afternoon range Fly A Kite, I made little boxes up like shadow boxes and put lots of chippies it there and some clouds from Leanne Jago shop.

Thsi is a little card I made which I will give my DH for our anniverasy which I forgot about last year and just remembered now lol!

Here is my LO for the Scrap the Boys March challenge!

This month your challenge is to use a specific TIME as your layout's title...

- Capture a moment in your day that you want to remember, part of your daily routine or something special the kids or hubby has on, or a specific day or moment that you want to remember.
You then need to use that time/date as your layout title.

Soooooo my LO is called: 24 December 2010 :)

I really like the idea of the Scrap the Boys challenge blog, I find male LO's quite hard to do and usually approach them like I would a girly LO!
I have decided to try and play along with as many as I can this year so I can stretch my LO style!

Weigh in Wednesday take 3

How quickly do we arrive back at Wednesday every week?
I can't believe how fast this past week has actually gone.
This past week I have had Gilly (darling) come and stay and she and I took a trip inland and up the mountian to Toowoomba to visit some awesome scrappy buddies (pic's to come :)
But as lovely as this past week end was (and I did have an absolute blast BTW) I had a massive blowout and actually gained just under a kg.
So keeping this in mind I really lost 0.5kgs which is actually awesome but would have been 1.4kgs had I have not had the blowout! (but it was totally worth it!!)
So this puts my total weight loss during the challenge at 3kgs!!

I am happy with my results and can see a difference now.
My tip on modifying is not about modifying my food as much as it is about modifying the way I eat.
Firstly I have stopped serving such large portions. Secondly I try and eat much slower now. I used to scoff my food down in no time at all and then quickly have 2nds, now I really take a bit more time to eat my meals and find that my "I'm full" reflex kicks in so I have no desire to over eat. I think that I have a fairly fast metabolism but I was extremely guilty of larger portions and over eating.
